This tutorial is about how to recover lost files from 128GB Formatted USB Flash Drive using DDR Pen Drive. PNY 64GB USB Formatted - Showing as 30.4GB (self.techsupport) submitted 5 years ago by Biffaboy I recently had to format a PNY 64GB USB Drive due to it being 'write protected' - it all went fine, but now it only shows as a 30.4GB Drive.
My PNY usb3.0 turbo 128gb flash drive has stopped showing up in 'mycomputer'. When i plug it in, it makes the windows sound that USB recognised or that something has connected. The USB is also shown in device manager. However there is nothing in 'my computer'. I have tried plugging into other computers but have the same issue.
I cant format it nor update the firmware as i have tried but the device seemingly is inaccessible. I have important files on there that i need. The only thing i can say is that i plugged it into my bluray player to watch a movie, that was the last time it worked. And i have watched movies from the same USB many times using my bluray player so i doubt that would have caused any issues. I have tried installing data recovery software to get my stuff back, most of the softwares dont recognize the usb either except for one software called Recuva recuva recognises the usb but when i click on it to open it, it shows me an error which says Please insert a disk into USB Drive G: the USB led light still flashes as if its active, any help please?
Same issue here with the same drive P-FD128TBAT2-GE Shows up in Windows in Disk Drives you can remove it in windows scan for changes it finds the drive again but the drive size is 0 Run Diskmgmt.msc and it does not show up, rescan disks no disk found I called PNY Support they said they normally just replace the drives there is no fix for them. The lesson learned is these drives are not sturdy enough to go into a smart TV or DVD player while the device is powered on. Doing so will ruin the NAND, it's a very fragile device. Use it very carefully any surge and it's gone.
Dear Debra Zumbuhl, First of all, check if there is a physical write protection on/off tab or button on the drive. If there is none, you will have to boot in safe mode, and using the command prompt, format the drive to get past the write protection. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Find the letter of your drive.
